Ladies and gentlemen, this is a momentous occasion. 1) I turned 14 today! woot! Go me! It's my birthday! 2) I'm writing a happy fic. Voila! (Rae pov)

Today is my birthday. The beginning of a new year of hate and loneliness. I'll sit in my room the entire day, alone, and no one will notice or care. Except…something just hit my door. Why would someone care enough to come to my room? I open the door, only to see empty space. Great. Beast Boy is trying to "punk" me again. I sighed, knowing I could never really be angry at my love. I move to go back inside, but a package wrapped in black satin catches my eye. I carefully pick it up, looking for identification of some sort. I turn it over, and tucked underneath the ribbon is a card the states: Raven. Me. The package was for me. Someone gave me… a birthday present? No one has cared enough to get me a birthday present in years. I cautiously open the cared, daring not to hope.
"Raven, my love, I would like to wish you a happy birthday. I hope that you will meet me at midnight alone so that I can give you your birthday present. Please wear this dress. I hope you like it. I love you."
I love you. Some one loves me! I quickly scanned the card, looking a clue to who my secret admirer was. There was nothing, not even a signature. I hesitantly open the package. I gasp as I open the bundle to reveal a beautiful dress. It is black with purple detailing on the sides. I've never seen anything like it. But…how do I know this isn't a sick joke? I hoped for so long that my love would accept me for who I am and love me, but… I sigh, staring at the gorgeous gown for a long period of time, mulling things over. I don't want to get hurt but, hey. If it is a cruel joke, I can always hurl the guy out the window. ()

At a quarter till midnight, I opened the door of my room in my beautiful dress, puzzled as to where I should go. At my feet, I see a single black rose, with a brief note attached saying: Follow the petals. I glance down the hallway to see a trail of rose petals leading to the elevator. I step in, to find another rose and note stating: Go to the roof. I step onto the roof to see a mound of floor pillows and roses, all lit by candlelight. My breath dies as I see Beast Boy step from the shadows
"Happy birthday Raven," he says, stepping forward to give me my first kiss.
