Ship: Draco/Ginny
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters. Don't sue me.He Will Object
He will go. He will stand in the back. He never liked big crowds, unless he was the center of them. Ginny will begin to walk down the aisle. She will have white flowers in her hair and a stunning strapless traditional dress. She will walk not only towards another man, but the one he hates more than anything— more than her— more than love. Her smile will make him cry.
"If anyone has any objection as to why these two people should be joined in holy matrimony, let yourself be heard or forever hold your peace"
He will now stagger forward, "Yeah, I have one."
"Draco…" She will mutter. Her smile will fade and her eyes will widen with something halfway between sadness and pain.
Harry will grab Ginny's hand protectively. He will look confused along with the audience. Her brothers will grind their teeth and stand up.
Oblivious, he will continue. "I am supposed to get whatever I want. But wherever Potter was concerned, this never has really mattered. But, now it isn't supposed to work like this. Life isn't a fairy-tale damn it. Why isn't someone else getting her back for me? Why do I have to stand here and watch them exchange sickeningly sweet glances. I always get what I want. Why not this time?" As he yells the last question, a tear will find it's way down his face.
He will now turn to Ginny. "I waited you know. But, I guess it doesn't matter. It isn't like I have a heart anyway. Don't flatter yourself; I never loved you. How could I? My heart couldn't have broken when you weren't there. Though, the air in where my heart should be may have frozen. Are you really too good for me?"
"Excuse me, sir?"
"You can't interrupt me. Goddamn it, why? I don't understand. Fuck, Ginny. Why can't I have you?"
"Sir, do not forget you are in a house of God."
He will draw closer to the priest. "Don't interrupt me." The priest will shift and nod. The guests will now be checking and rechecking their ties, tucking their dresses, flipping through the programs and bibles in front of them anything to keep from looking at the scene progressing in front of them.
"Draco— please just…. leave." She will look pained as she bites her bottom lip.
"Don't you wish I would? Too bad I'm not as good at leaving as you are. I may not be able to love, but I can hate and that is close enough. I object because…" His voice will falter. He will look almost insane now, tears burning his face, rage tearing through his body. The awkwardness now emanating from the guests will almost suffocate the room.
"Because I don't want it to happen. I don't." Breathing hard he will throw a small metal object at Ginny's feet. It will sparkle in the filtered light of the chapel.
He will run off. People will look up by mistake and exchange awkward glances.
"Proceed." Ginny will state firmly, even though she will now be crying.
"Do you, Ginerva Weasley—"
"I can't. I'm sorry, Harry. I'm just so sorry. I can't." She will gulp, start sobbing, and run away.
