Byakuran's Birdie
Summary: Sing or die. That is the choice Byakuran gives. So what will it be? Will you sing or wait for eventual death? Drabble/ficlet. 10027 if you squint really hard.
Disclaimer: Katekyo Hitman Reborn does not belong to me! If it did, a lot of questions would be answered…
A/N: This is – you guessed it – another plot bunny story. Seriously, I need to stop, otherwise my FF account is going to get messed up. Originally, I was thinking of just trashing this story, but then afterwards I decided to send it to a FF writer friend of mine (Bunnygoesbang) and she encouraged me to upload it, so here it is. (This is my first time writing a fanfic about Byakuran, btw. Because previously I was hating him for causing Uni's death, but now Uni's back, so...)
It was a monster.
That is, the cage's size was a monster. It was huge, reaching from the floor all the way to the high ceiling. The cage was made from solid gold, and had white anemone flowers growing all over it, like a disease.
Whoever lived in the cage should be quite happy with the space that they were given.
Shouldn't they...?
"Are you ready to sing for me today, Tsunayoshi-kun?" a merry voice sang out as the door to the cage room banged open.
A pair of dull brown eyes stared down at Byakuran and a voice answered flatly: "No."
Byakuran pouted and stared down at the boy sitting in the cage. "Mou~ How long are you going to keep refusing?"
"Forever."
"Ah! So cold, so cold~" Byakuran squealed. "But then, that's what makes you so cool, Tsunayoshi-kun!" He paused in thought. "But, I wonder... how long can you keep this up? You haven't had food in 2, no 3 days..."
The boy didn't answer. He went back to stripping the petals off a single flower.
"Well, maybe tomorrow you'll change your mind." Byakuran said hopefully.
"Ready to sing for me today, Tsunayoshi-kun?" Byakuran eyed the slim boy perched in the cage, who looked weaker than he did the day before.
"No."
"you've gone for 4 days without food, you know." Byakuran frowned. "Why don't you just sing, Tsunayoshi-kun? Then I won't have to starve you to death.
The brunet ignored the white-haired man and began ripping the petal-less flower's stalk into pieces.
"Will you sing for me today, little birdie?" Byakuran looked up hopefully, only to see nothing there. He looked down at the floor of the cage, to see the tiny shrunken form of Tsuna lying dead there. The remains of the white anemone flower he had been picking at were crushed in his fist.
Byakuran sighed. "Only 5 days and dead from starvation already. Time to get a new birdie, I guess."
Byakuran eyed the people chained in front of him. "Which birdie should I pick this time, I wonder?"
"Hopefully this one will do better than the last one." Byakuran muttered, eyeing the body of Tsuna which was still lying on the floor of the cage. Then he said loudly in a more cheerful voice: "Will you sing for me today, Hibari-kun?"
"No." came the flat reply.
"Not again." Byakuran sighed.
A/N: …nothing much to say here.
Reviews would be great, guys. Thanks.
