Roxas seemed frozen himself, breathing heavily as his fingers tightened and loosened anxiously around the handle of the keyblade. Blue eyes stared accusingly up at the now motionless Axel. Part of him ached to remember the fiery haired man. Past conversations seemed to linger on his lips, strange laughter ringing in his ears. It was almost unbearable. How badly did he really want to remember? Was it worth it? Roxas took a slow breath, approaching his former companion. Fingertips brushed lightly against Axel's skin, Roxas standing on his tiptoes to stare him in the eye.
"I don't remember you."
His chest ached for some unknown reason, a pounding, throbbing feeling. Hesitant fingers slid back slightly, tugging lightly at strands of crimson hair. There was something about this that felt so hauntingly familiar. Roxas swallowed hard, shifting his position slightly. No…Axel was lying. They had never been friends, never. Hayner, Pence, Ollete…they were his friends. Not this guy.
"I can't remember you."
Roxas closed his eyes, waves of familiarity washing over him. The boy let out a startled cry, eyes opening suddenly. He shook his head, pulling his hands away from Axel's face and turning to leave.
"I won't remember you."
