"What do you want for your birthday, Natsume? Tell me and I'll get it for you no matter how expensive. Wait…I mean, at least something that I can afford. So, what do you-"

"Shut up. The greatest gift you can give me for my birthday is the disappearance of your annoying self!"

A knife, a note, and myself.

Blinding white light greeted me, the pain that engulfed at first numbed. I felt…good? A warm hand held onto my shoulder, I turned to look at the person and smiled.

"Mother?" I greeted softly. Afraid that my voice would break the happiness I'm feeling right now.

I figure appeared behind her.

'Father…' I thought to myself. His bright smile blinding me more than the white light.

Slowly, one-by-one people I love started emerging in front of my eyes. I felt happy, I wanted to hug every single one of them, I feel…cold?

It was then, a stranger appeared, walking slowly towards my direction as all the other figures started retreating – started fading away.

"NO! Don't go!"

"You'll see them soon, child," the stranger said

"What is this place?"

"Home."

"No. Home doesn't look like thi- I…I don't remember how home looks like. I'm forgetting stuff."

"You have to be purified to enter home, child."

"What is this 'home 'you speak of, Mr.? Please, tell me."

He just smiled at me. I was confused.

'Close your eyes. Your memories are disappearing within you.' My thoughts told me.

I closed my eyes.

Memories…

Memories…

Memories…

"I'm sorry, I couldn't save them." The doctor said.

"You must! You must save my parents! YOU MUST!" the auburn haired girl cried. "YOU MUST!" she broke in sobs, clutching onto the doctor's coat.

"Here," a boy about my age said as he handed the auburn haired girl her books.

"Thank you," she answered breathlessly.

The boy started to walk away. She quickly stopped him. He gave her a confused yet nonchalant look? "What?

"Can I…know your name?"

"Hyuuga Natsume."

"Thank you. Thank you Natsume."

"What do you want for your birthday, Natsume? Tell me and I'll get it for you no matter how expensive. Wait…I mean, at least something that I can afford. So, what do you-"

"Shut up. The greatest gift you can give me for my birthday is the disappearance of your annoying self!"

"…I love you, Natsume."

"…I love you, Natsume." I said out loud once more and everything disappeared. The light gone, the stranger disappeared, and I felt myself fleeting. Fleeting into nothingness, fleeting into a place called…home.

It's a new writing style I'm trying out. Pretty annoying as well because I love describing stuff. Putting a lot of dialogue without describing the situation makes it feel incomplete. Nevertheless, it's partial experiment. So, hope you like it! Expect the second chapter on Natsume's birthday! If...I get to write it ON TIME.
