"Brother!... Brother wait please!"
Setoru halted in the process of putting on his scandals, hearing his little brother's plea coming from the hall. Shiori, no more than four, ran into room; depression over took his whole being seeing the other boy sitting on the edge of the landing.
"What is it Shiori?"
"You're leaving again... aren't you?"
"I'm only going to class, I shall be home by dinner."
"But... I thought I could go with you today, to watch you train."
"I'm sorry Shiori, but today isn't a good time for that... Shikamaru-sensei will be taking us out of the village today to train. Mother wouldn't want you so far from home."
"But... I'm bored staying here with mommy, daddy is on a mission, and she's busy with Setsumi."
"Well Setsumi is a baby, she needs mommy's attention... maybe you could help her." Setoru again began to place his shoes on, knowing if he didn't leave soon he would be late for class. He stood to leave, but not before turning back to the little boy and gently rubbing his head, "Maybe another time Shiori."
"Yeah... I guess." Shiori turned to go back into the house, all hopes of being able to spend time with his big brother were crashed. Just as he was about to shut the inner door that lead to the hall and the rest of the house, and hand shot out to stop him.
"Huh?"
"I'm... pretty sure Shikamaru-sensei won't miss me for one day, I already know what we're going to be doing anyway. And maybe I can show you, so you're ready when you start classes." Setoru smiled seeing the sparkle come back to his brother's eyes.
"Really brother! You mean it!"
"Hn."
"Come on! Let's go, hurry get your kunai and show me that trick you were practicing the other day... please!" Shiori was ecstatic that his big brother was making time for him in his busy schedule.
"Alright, alright slow down."
Neither boy noticed the pink hair woman peering out of the kitchen door, she smiled seeing how her boys were acting together. She knew with their father being sent on so many missions in the last couple weeks, and Setoru being in classes, Shiori hasn't really had any guy time with the rest of the men in the family; and she knew is wasn't fun to spend all day with mommy and little sister all the time. In the back of her mind, she wondered if this was how Sasuke acted when he was younger with Itachi. She knew Itachi never had the time for Sasuke with everything that was happening and his missions. She was only glad Setoru knew when it was time to train, and when it was time to just be a big brother and spend time with his little brother.
After the boys left, for what she was sure would be a few hours, she prepared a scroll to be sent to the academy to tell them that Setoru wouldn't be attending classes today.
Note: Another one-shot, chillaxin101 wanted something with Setoru in it, so there you go! I was trying to stay in the same frame of mind with the episode on the show, were Itachi couldn't make time for Sasuke. But Setoru was a different type of big brother, and plus the boys are closer in age then their father and uncle, and I think that kind of had something to do with it.
