This thought is running through the mind of Shippo as he goes though his childhood with his Mother.

The Answer to this lies in the past. Let me take you back ten years in time where our little Shippo is still the little fox demon we all remember.

/\Flash back time for those of you who are a little slow like me/\

Shippo was always close to his father but his father would never let him come on journeys that his father went on. The night before one of Shippo's father's journey Shippo knew that his father wouldn't let him go. So Shippo went to go to his favorite spot on the hill right in front of his den. As he laid there staring at the stars he thought to himself "When will something happen that I can be a part of?" Just as he thought it he heard an explosion that came from his den. With closer hearing Shippo could hear her mother screaming.

Shippo went to his mother's rescue. When he arrived he found his father with his armor on fully dressed in battle attire fighting with the great honorable ruler dog demon. Shippo could only imagine why his father the loyal vassal of the honorable ruler. Shippo heard the honorable ruler with so much anger and vengeance in his voice "Why did you do it I trusted you? Why did you kill my beloved?" Shippo couldn't grasp the knowledge that he has just received.

Shippo looked at his father after the fight had ended and asked his father if what he had heard was true. The only thing his father did was to show Shippo the full extent to his power that he has gained by becoming evil and he said to Shippo "Let me show you the attack that I killed you friends beloved mortal mother" In an evil tone of voice

Shippo's eye's widened and he thought "That's must have been why the honorable ruler had been in the rage that he was in last night" Shippo grew anger and his father and said "father I hate you how could you do that!"

As soon as he had said it Inuyasha had heard Shippo and he jumped out of the tree that he was hiding in and grabbed Shippo right before Shippo's father's attack would have hit Shippo.

Shippo says to Inuyasha "I have renounced my father. Will you train me? So I can defeat my father and help you because you'll need it."
