His agonizing cry for help was ringing in his eyes like a bell in a tower. He sat there crumpled in a heap on the floor, staring up at me with tearful eyes, pleading for it all to be over. I looked down on him, along the barrel of my gun, aimed straight at his head. My eyes were drowning in their own tears and blurred my vision as I looked to the boy in front of me.
"Please Gwen, please just do it," he cried through his heart wrenching sobs.
"But..."
"Just do it," he practically yelled at me.
He slowly turned his head away from me and squeezed his eyes closed; everything about his movement all but screamed at me that it was time. I pulled the trigger, more hesitant than ever before, and let the bullet fly out of my gun.
The sound of the gunshot called out among the silence, echoing through the empty field, alarming unwelcome guests from every direction. I took one last look at the only thing that kept me alive in this world, and another at the single thing that ripped it away from me before trekking my way into a world I had never had to face alone before.
Author's Note:
Hey guys, this is a prologue for a new fanfiction I am thinking of starting. I've gotten opinions from friends at school who thought I should upload this. Please leave reviews letting me know if you like it and I should go on.
Thanks xx
