"Leave me alone," I screamed, moving away from the brambles and attempting to avoid his extended arm. "We shouldn't be speaking as it is."
"How come? Because you're the son of Mab? Because I'm Prince of the Seelie court?" Blaine demanded as he grabbed my arm and yanked me in. Up close I could see his amber eyes burning with frustration and confusion but underneath that was desire. Desire to break every single rule known to the NeverNever.
I released a huff of annoyance while trying feebly to tame in the winter glamour, "Yes Blaine. Do you not understand the consequences that will surely pass if someone sees us and tells Queen Mab or your father? They will exile us Blaine. Or worse because of our actions a full blown war will happen. Do you wish to see the terror Mab will reign down upon Arcadia? Because I do not."
"We can hide Kurt," Blaine pleaded, fingers clutching desperately at my own. "Meetings in the wyldwood, far from the eyes of our monarchy." I glanced upwards at the sky, one of which was dotted with sparkling stars that would never be seen in Tir Na Nog, and knew no matter how much of me wanted to stay with Blaine, to trust his words that everything would be okay I could not continue our relationship any longer.
"No," I murmured, the determination and fight leaving me at once. I straightened and carefully removed my hands from his warm ones. "I cannot Blaine. On this day Blaine I leave you; we will not see each other again nor will we speak of our past encounters with anyone." I shuddered. "Goodbye Blaine, Prince of the Seelie Court."
Turning around, I pushed past the thickets of thorns and ignored the breaking of a once iced heart that had been warmed by a boy with amber eyes and an adorable grin. Beneath my feet ice bloomed and as I tracked across the court yard I knew those around kept their distance for upsetting a Prince of winter was not a pleasant experience. Once behind a large, stoned, pillar I watched in silent as Blaine made his own journey towards his chambers, ignoring the bows of his people with a clenched jaw and pained gaze and knew deep within that the pain I had caused him would be worth it, knowing truly that if Mab has discovered their affair, Blaine would surely pay the price. "I love you Blaine, Prince of the Seelie Court and I am truly sorry."
