So I really love Heist Society and I decided to write a One-shot for the part in Uncommon Criminals where Hale finds out that Kat knew about Nick and stuff...You know, where they're on the yacht...and I always wondered, what would happen if that chapter continued? Hmmmmm...
"Do you believe in curses, Hale?"
He looked at her. "I believe in you."
She looked away. "Right. That's not what you said in New York."
Hale sighed. "Kat, I..."
"No, Hale, you don't. I fucking kissed you! And you fucking left! I mean, I'm no Gabby or Marilyn Monroe, but am I that bad? Nick certainly doesn't have a problem with me!"
"Don't you start that, Kat," he warned, glaring at her while staring into her eyes. "You know I hate-"
"Hate is such a strong word, Hale. I really don't get why people use it." Kat went to move from his hold, but he tensed his arms up. She tried to pry his fingers from the bars, but he held strong. To Kat, it was taking all the strength she had, and Hale could see it. He could feel it. No matter how much Kat tried, Hale was winning. Hale always won. "Hale, let me go!"
As he loosened his arms, he whispered, "I'm sorry, Kitty Kat." Kat took the opportunity to run away, but he wouldn't let her. Not this time. Now he understood what she meant. How she felt. He had hurt her. He always hurt her. She was his rock, never really breaking. She was the only one, besides Marcus, who would be there for him, no matter what.
As he grabbed her by her waist, spinning her around to face him, he thought of all the horrible things she'd ever done to him. She'd rejected him time after time. She'd called him names. She'd left him for Clogan. But she was Kat. It would be a sign of Armageddon if she didn't do any of those things.
He placed both hands on either side of her face, murmuring, "For everything." And he did something he knew he wouldn't regret.
He kissed her.
At first she kissed him back, and mainly because it felt so good. For both of them. And then Kat remembered they had an emerald on the line, and she tried to pull away. Hale wasn't about to let that happen, though, so he placed his hands on the sides of her waist, trying to ask her not to go without really doing so. Finally, she gave in, pressing against him, sliding her arms around his neck. She told him she wasn't going anywhere by pressing up against him, kissing him a little harder. Slowly, he lifted her up, not breaking away from her. Kat really wasn't paying attention to where they were going; she was just so...happy. Kat didn't even realize where they were until she heard a door slam shut. And, quite frankly, she didn't care.
Kat rolled over, snuggling closer to Hale. Smiling, she placed her head in the crook of his neck and shoulder. There was something about Hale she could never get enough of, and it wasn't his looks. It was just...Hale. She just couldn't get over Hale. And now, finally, she was right where she wanted to be. With Hale.
Hale took his right arm from behind his head to around Kat's shoulders, pulling her even closer to him than she already was. She sighed, and he kissed the top of her head, softly stroking her hair. There was something different he was feeling, and it wasn't coming from his body, or even his heart.
It was coming from his soul.
Ehhh? Good? Bad? Okay? Reviews!:D
