Prologue
Lightning streaked white across the black skies, and thunder rolled ever menacingly onwards in the distance.
Sharp icicles of rain pelted downwards on the boy's face, mingling with the stale tears falling down his frozen cheeks.
Pushing a strand of straw gold hair from butterfly lashes, eyes of cascading sapphire reflecting hurt shone with remorse as the sky lit up once again in a roar of fury.
The city below seemed to sway, and as he went to take the step to end it all, he felt something hard and cold being pressed against his temple.
Through the sheet of neve rending rain, the boy of blue eyes turned to find a white angel staring back at him, a glint of something unknown flashing across his dull grey irises.
Digging the death weapon further into the older boy's skull, the angel's lips tilted upwards into a deceitful smile.
"…Are you really going to jump?"
