Sakuno sat on the bench under the blossom tree, now bare and covered with snow.
She shivered as her coat wasn't able to keep her warm. She then stuffed her cold hand into her pockets.
The park was covered with a layer of snow that was filled with pairs of footprints.
She spotted two children about the age of four making snow angels in the thick snow, giggling and laughing together.
Sakuno chuckled. She remembered the time when she was small, making snowmen with her cousins, throwing snowballs at each other.
Suddenly, a boy wearing a white cap came to Sakuno and sat beside her, bringing her back to reality.
"Ryoma-kun," she said, blushing as she never thought he would come to a place like this.
"Ryuzaki," he replied.
"Me-Merry Chris-Christmas," she managed to say.
He turned towards her and looked into her brown eyes, his eyes penetrating hers.
Finally, he spoke. "Merry Christmas, Sakuno."
With that, he planted a soft kiss on her lips, making Sakuno turn into a deep shade of red.
Sakuno froze for a second, then deepened the kiss.
After what that seemed to be a million years, they broke the kiss.
After giving her a final peck on her cheek, Ryoma whispered into her ears, "This is the best Christmas I've ever had."
"Me too…" was her soft reply.
