I own nothing to do with this but the storyline! ! ! ! !

Long time no see.

Chapter the First

E Pov

The whole town had been buzzing all weekend about the new family to Forks. They had bought the old water mill and done it up. The tradesmen in the town were ecstatic, it was clear that money was no object and that these people were more than content to spend in order to get the results they wanted.

My family was no exception to the excitement, with Alice hopping around convinced she would have a new best friend by the end of the school day, who would hopefully have a closet to rival hers and Rosalie having taken great offence that Alice was in the market for a new 'bestie' as she put it had taken immediate dislike of the newcomers and stormed out in a huff.

I myself hated newcomers, every flash of rich mahogany hair or deep chocolate eyes reminded me of her ... We should never have left Chicago, even though it may have been the easiest or best thing I should never have let Carlisle persuade me to leave. Perhaps I should explain.

Carlisle was my uncle and when my parents died not long after my sister Alice was born he took both us and my elder brother Emmett in. In early 1899 he found Esme and along with her niece Rosalie and her twin Jasper the two fell deeply in love, and a year later after a whirlwind courtship they married in a stunning winter wedding that my sister still raves about. It was there like something out of a fairy tale that I saw her, my Angel, her shining mahogany hair softly curled around her shoulders and her warm chocolate eye sparkling with wit and laughter, she had me in that moment and I knew she would have me forever.

We spent a magical year together but just as I gathered the courage to ask her father for her hand tragedy struck the city. Both of my Angels parents contracted the disease and succumbed to the Spanish Influenza leaving her all on her own. It wasn't until his own family was touched by the sickness that Carlisle acted. He told me as I lay dying that he could save me and the rest of our family, and god help me but to save my own skin I listened. It was later after we left the city that I learned my Angel had fallen sick too, but by then we were far to far away to do anything.

So here we are living as best we can as the vampires we are, in this rainy backwater of Forks Washington. The others were lucky that day in Chicago, they got to keep their mates as they have every day since, my uncle with his wife Esme, my sister with her Jasper and Emmett with his Rosalie. But while I have my days when eternity seems endless without her, I always hope that perhaps I was wrong and my angel is still alive like me, frozen in time. My love, My Bella.

'Alright, whose stupid idea was it to come here anyway. 'I asked the room in general as I stared out the window into the rain that had been a constant since we arrived the day before.

I turned having received no answer and pursed my lips ' hellooo, I know there are vampires in this big not old house somewhere.' Having still received no answer and the only sound I could hear being that of music echoing in the cavernous rooms, I put out the psychic feelers in order to find at least someone who could tell me why I couldn't hear them.

Detecting life coming from the closet I headed there to find my sisters Cammie and Chrissie having a silent screaming match with each other. Becoming worried with the lack of noise I tapped on the edge of the door and the pair turned to see me. Cammie rolled her eyes, walked over and pulled the ear buds out of my ears saying, ' And you wonder why you walk around deaf half the time, honestly what use is a deaf vampire anyway.'

'Not much.' I reply wandering into the room and collecting the clothes I intended to wear that day to school. 'What was all the silent screaming about anyway? I thought you two were BFF's or twins forever or something like that. 'I asked.

'It wasn't silent, you just happen to be a bit of an idiot, and siblings are aloud to fight you know' Cammie stated bluntly.

She spun towards Chrissie with her finger pointed in her direction. 'Anyway She stole the pants I was going to wear today and now if I take the second pair we're going to be all matchy matchy that looks like we're trying to hard and I hate that so now I have to come up with a whole new outfit and it's not fair.' She huffed. Chrissie grinned smugly at me as she turned to leave the room and said 'you snooze you lose Cammie. How are you actually getting to school today anyway Bella it looks too wet to take the bikes?'

'The rain will stop soon, and then we can ride, but just now its time to shower and get ready.' I replied and zipped into the nearest bathroom accompanied by a chorus 'Hey that's not fair.' And 'Hey I was first.' It was only after I pointed out that they both have en-suite bathrooms that they left me to enjoy the hot water.

One relaxing shower later and after visiting Alex in his office to let him know we were heading out, I rounded up the other miscreants we lived with and we all headed to the garage.

'Why the hell should I not drive the Impala, I can drive just as well as you can. It's not fair you girls are gonna look the dogs balls on those bikes - if the rain ever stops. - but I can't be the awesome that I am in the epitome of American engineering that is the Chevy Impala.' Chris muttered to himself as he followed us to the cars that were our respective babies.

'You can't drive it because the last three times you did I had to rebuild the engine, and you have no idea how hard it is to find parts for the Impala. They are jealously guarded by people who own one so that when nit wits like you drive it they can be fixed, now I have very generously said that you can drive the vanquish if you really must drive one of my cars but if you keep moaning your just gonna have to ride pillion with Cammie, imagine how embarrassing that would be huh?' I stated as I reached the bottom of the staircase and looked back at the muscle-bound oaf I had claimed as a brother all those long years ago. 'And the rain will stop in a minute.'

Seconds later as the girls and I prepped our bikes for school we heard the last drops of rain hit the ground and I turned to grin at the assembly behind me. 'I told ya so.'

'That's so unfair how does she do that? Do any of you have anything to shove in the trunk?'

'Always complaining.' I walked over and shoved my back pack and velveteen jacket in - both so inconvenient on a motorcycle - and dangled the keys in front of Chris's face. 'If I hear any noises of complaint coming from this fine piece of machinery such as grinding of gears, sticky clutch or over acceleration, you will not only never come near one of my cars again, but I will personally strip your Konigsegg CCX to its bare bones but I will also make the parts to fix MY car from bits of YOU. Got it.' I threatened gently.

Chris shook his head violently and I dropped the keys into his hand as the girls snickered in the background while they put on their helmets. This wasn't the first time we had had a first day of school we were actually becoming rather experts at it as annoying as that may be. As we drew near we could hear the whispers of the kids in the parking lot. It would appear we were eagerly anticipated.

'Hey do you hear them. You'd think we were rock stars or something.' Cammie said as we got ever closer

'Maybe we should give them something look at then girls.' Chrissie said 'Guard the car and streamline it ladies.'

As we rounded the final bend in the road before the school we all lay on the tanks of the bikes closed ranks on the car and hit the gas. The attention of the entire lot was on us as we smoothly pulled into four spaces one after the other and cut the engines in sync.

'Show 'em gorgeous girls.' Chris muttered as he got out of the car to open the trunk and get our bags. So we did just that, with all eyes on us we stepped off the bikes and in a much practiced move as one we pulled off our helmets in the classic sexy girl move and stowed them in the trunk instead of the bags. We grinned to each other as we headed past the now gawking male population which was getting into serious trouble with its female other half.

As we swept past the last of the cars on the way to the school office a flash if green caught my eye, and caused a second look. I could have sworn ... memory of smiling emerald eyes flashed in my minds eye, but that was impossible. Edward Mason died in 1901.

Hello there again wonderful readers whom I have shamefully let down for the last lets forget how long. I have decided to take another crack at the whip and will once again be attempting to write a story that will hopefully entertain you at least in some small way. With that in mind I have made some revisions to the original opening and will be doing the same for the next chapter too, please let me know what you think because if you prefer the original I can put it back that way. I realize that there are some noticeable differences in this one but I realized that I shoved a lot of info in there at the start, and wanted to slow that down a bit, it will all be there in the end though. I ask that you bear with me on this because I'm not exactly sure yet where this is going, but I hope to at least update on a semi regular basis. Thank you again for your patience and I hope you enjoy the fresh start.
