Prologue
There once was a great mage. He devoted his life to understanding the elements of the world. As he mastered all four demons, angels, immortals, and humans hunted him down because they wanted his power. The power of earth, air, fire and water was too great for one person. To make sure that his power never got into the wrong hands he had his apprentice find four honorable and power families to in trust his powers to.
Amelia Morgan was given the power of fire.
John Turner the power of air.
Katherine O'Conner the power of water.
Frances Demear the power of earth.
Each first born would inherit the power. If twins the power was selected randomly between the two. It is the job of the four holders to take on two apprentice, his or her child and a witch or wizard of their respective element and train them to become a master. Once the apprentice is a master he or she can take on their own apprentices and the cycle continues. The goal to master each element individually and use the power to protect. Thus, creating the Mage's Creed:
Thou have been given a gift, thus protect the virtuous.
