Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon. I do own quite a few of the games, however.

A/N: This is my second story on the Pokemon thread. I hope you all enjoy it. R&R!
The second I came out of my Pokeball, I was ready for action. Ready to fight whatever was in front of me. But there was nothing there. I was in the middle of a forest. I turned to my trainer, wondering what was going on.
"What are we doing?" I asked him. Of course, all he could hear was, "Pika, pika, pikachu?" I looked at him with a confused look.
"Zap, do you remember when we first met?" He asked me. Of course, he named me Zap. He caught me in this same exact forest, and gave me that name. It was almost five years ago. I nodded in response. "We go back a long time, I know." He started to cry now. What was going on? "This…is where we go our separate ways."
I was stunned. I just looked up at him with eyes full of question. Was it really true? "You were my best friend. But now I've caught many strong Pokemon. I can't use you in battles anymore. I don't want you to get hurt. I don't want you cooped up in a computer box either." He knelt down to my level. "You must understand, I'm doing this because I care for you."
I was crying now, too. I couldn't hold it in. My own trainer was abandoning me. "Please, don't follow me, but don't ever forget me, either." He embraced me one last time, and then he left me, forever.
To this very day, I've never forgot him either. And I hope he hasn't forgotten me.
