Summary: Short Drabble. This is like the other half of 'He'll wait for her' from like Sara's POV.
Disclaimer: I don't own CSI, I have no Beta so all mistakes are mine.
She Left
Sara didn't know what to do and the only thing that seems right was to leave but that meant losing some of the people that meant so much to her. If she could just make sense of what was screaming in her nightmares then maybe none of this would be necessary. The only way it could be justified was to acknowledge the 'ghosts' that have followed her around since her father was killed.
The past wasn't exactly that, it was what drove her to become who she was and it was something she had to be thankful for. For years she could say that it wasn't enough and for years she spent her time finding justice for the victims but now it was time to find justice for herself. People could tell her that she was running away from the problems but in reality, coming to Las Vegas was running away and leaving is making her face them again.
Gil was the only person in her life that could possibly understand this but she knew he would take her absence the hardest. Sara wanted to ask him to come with her so she wasn't alone; asking him to quit his job wasn't something she could do. The time he took to build up the reputation of the lab could be taken away so easily and she just wasn't prepared to put him through it. Sara loved him too much.
Telling him her reasons for going away just wouldn't make their presence and her mouth felt dry for the words that she couldn't verbalize. Writing a letter was the only thing she could do to explain how she was feeling, at least she could have the courage to send it. It probably wasn't Gil's fault anyway, he might of felt the need to say those things to her, face to face. Sara's current actions wouldn't be placed under the category of fortitude anyways.
So leaving in the cab that picked her up outside the lab, she could feel her eyes glaze over with tears for her friends, for the lab, for her family and mostly for Grissom. The taste of him rested on her lips after she kissed him for the last time and a warm wash of relief fell upon her as Sara remembered that she might be able to return feeling like a new person and hopefully he would still be there for her.
THE END
A/n: Another short drabble on my part lol but i felt i needed to and another half to Grissom's POV. I'm so sad Jorja left :(
