I just had a sudden burst of emotion, so I decided to write this. This is
Diamond of Long Cleeve writing her final farewells regarding her husband's
death.

The winds have grown much colder, The lights is a failing dim, The days seem so much longer, The leaves upon last whim.
The stars no longer shimmer, The river grey and cold, The lives that death has taken, Too much sadness I must hold.
Even with friends around me, They cannot remove my pain, I long for you beside me, To be right here again.
But you have left me standing, In a place that's so far from home, A place that's so distant, Where I am all alone.
I could never prepare for this day, Nothing would keep me safe, Despite we knew of its comings, Your death was in too much haste.
No longer can I wander, And be at peace with myself, Empty hollowness is all I'm left with, My pain is beyond belief.
One day I'm hope I'll find, My way back to your arms, And be with you as one again, For I've lost my only companion. ~ But never will I forget.
