"Pippin!" Merry yelled, pounding on his younger cousin's bedroom door, "Give it back!"
"No!" Pippin was trying to stifle his giggles. "This is wonderful blackmail material!"
Merry groaned. "Pippin, you are being so juvenile!"
"Well, I'm only 25. Besides, you're the one who writes in a diary," Pippin said.
"How is that juvenile?"
"It's not; it's strange. And I'm not giving you your precious diary!"
"Argh! Fine! Keep it! But if you show it to anyone I will KILL you!"
He could almost hear Pippin's self-satisfied grin as he said, "I'll give it back on one condition: You do whatever I say until you go home."
Merry groaned inwardly. He went hone in two weeks, and he knew that Pippin would make his life a living hell while he was here if he agreed. On the other hand, if he didn't, Pippin would probably tell everyone what was in it and make his life a living hell for the rest of his natural life. He weighed the risks.
"All right," he said eventually said, "I'll do it."
Pippin smiled. His plan was working.
