A/N : Hi everyone! So, I can't sleep because I'm too excited for tonight's episode (though I'll have to see it tomorrow morning, time not being the same around here, and all...). Soooo, I decided to finish this one (I started it some weeks ago) and to post it for you, guys. :) I'd like to really thank my friend and beta Duby34, because she really helped me on this one. The idea was hers, at the beginning and she pointed my mistakes, as always... So thank you ;)
As always, I don't own anything, though I'd love to. ^^ Enjoy!
Felicity was miserable. She missed Oliver. She missed him so much it sometimes hurt. Her nights seemed so much longer, now. She didn't have to help him in his nightly activities anymore. Even the city missed him. The criminality had raised a lot and the name of The Arrow was on everyone's lips, everywhere she went. People were wondering where he'd been or if he was killed by a criminal. Felicity was starting to accept that she'd never see him again. It wasn't easy, though. She still had difficult times.
She was at The Verdant, alone, after a night of helping Roy, Laurel and Diggle. Standing in front of the table, a jug in her hand, she poured water to the fern. She didn't know how it started, but one moment later, tears started to fill her eyes and streaming down her face. She looked at the fern and the day she offered it to him came back to her mind. She had liked his smile so much… In the couple years she knew him, she barely had the occasion to see him smile. Life hadn't been easy on him so he had withdrawn into himself a lot. Except with her, it seemed. As far as she could tell, she had seen the ghost of a smile more often with her than with all of his other friends reunited. But when he had seen the fern, his face had brightened like she had never seen before. She had felt warmness through her whole body, then. And the way he had looked at her made her insides tingle. As she remembered the day, she smiled softly. Thinking about him was still hurting but she didn't want to forget him. She didn't want to forget the few moments they'd shared together.
Suddenly, she heard a loud bang behind her. Startled, she turned around, her eyes flying towards the right corner of the ceiling, where the noise came from. There, she saw a bird flying between the beams. She looked down and found herself facing her reflection in the glass door. But what surprised her the most was the green she saw enveloping her face. Her breath stopped. She had Oliver's suit on her shoulders. She blinked twice. The suit was still here. She made a tiny movement on the right and saw that it didn't move. She realized that it was hanging on the rack and not on her shoulders.
She made a move to the left again and she smiled. As she was seeing the suit around her, she almost had the impression that he was here, with his arms around her. The hand that was crushing her heart since Oliver left loosened a bit. She felt the familiar warmness spreading through her body again, enveloping every one of her limbs. Sighing, she closed her eyes for a minute. Her shoulders relaxed and she took a deep breath. She realized that he'd always gonna be here in the rough times for her, even if he wasn't here, physically. She had found a new peace within her. Now, she could go on with her new life. She wouldn't forget him, no. He was a part of her, now. But she could stop the longing of him stopping her to live. From now on, every time she'd feel lonely, she'd come here. And admire her reflection be hold by his arms. It had become her sanctuary.
So, I hope you liked it! Let me know what you thought! ;)
