Ginny opened her office door, and groaned. It wasn't because she'd left her
bag at home or because the mound of paperwork was magically increasing, no,
it was because of a person, and that person was Draco Malfoy. He was
sitting on a chair, obviously waiting for her.
"What is it Malfoy?" she asked her roommate, irritably.
"Hello to you to Ginny," he drawled. He smirked as he held up her bag. Ginny went to grab it, but he pulled it out of her reach.
"I don't have time for games Malfoy. Now give me my bag!"
"What's in it for me?" he asked seductively. Ginny pulled out her wand.
"You don't get your manhood blown away," she said smirking, a trait learned well. Draco stood, unfazed, and grabbed her arms. He leant towards her.
"You wouldn't do that, would you Ginerva?" he whispered, sending chills up her spine. Don't give up Gin, she told herself.
"Try me Malfoy," she said venomously. Draco looked at her, realising she meant it.
"What's wrong Gin?" she looked away. "Ginny?"
"Where were you last night?"
"Out," he said plainly, not wanting to talk anymore.
"On a date?" she asked softly.
"No, I've already got one. Remember?" he teased as he flashed his silver wedding ring at her. Ginny rolled her eyes.
"Ha, ha," she said sarcastically. "Where were you?" she asked again.
"Ministry stuff. Work," he said lamely, knowing that lie wouldn't work.
"That's rich Malfoy!" Ginny laughed to keep herself from crying. "Don't lie to me Malfoy; I've been around guys my entire life to know when they're lying. Besides, I'm the bloody Minister of Magic, remember?" she mocked. Draco smirked.
"Why do you want to know, Gin?"
"Give me my bag Draco," she replied wearily. "I need to start work."
"First tell me why," he said softly. Ginny looked up at him.
"I missed you... your company," she said finally.
"Now look who's lying." He grinned. "I'm not..." Ginny sighed. "Fine, I missed you. Happy? I couldn't sleep, I was worried about you Draco," she said looking away again. Draco stroked her cheek and turned her face back to him.
"Sorry Ginerva," he said, genuinely apologetic. Draco reached into his robe and pulled out a rectangular box, with a silver bow on top. "Happy Birthday." He opened the box, revealing an emerald necklace and a pair of matching earrings. Ginny gasped.
"They're beautiful! Thankyou so much Draco!" he carefully took the necklace out of the box and set the box on her desk.
"May I?" Ginny nodded and turned around, lifting her hair up. "I was out late last night getting these for you. I had hoped it wouldn't take so long and that you wouldn't find out. Sorry dear," he said and kissed her cheek. "Now, aren't you glad you married me?"
"I always was Draco, and I always will be." Ginny turned around and hugged her husband. "Now I need to earn enough money to get you your birthday present, so give me back my bag, you annoying git!" she teased, smiling. Draco smiled back.
"Ah, you love me."
"I do," Ginny replied seriously.
"Love you too Gin," Draco said as he gave her bag to her.
