and we're lost and we want to be found

we'll build it a kiss at a time and it might not fall down

"First divorce: wife's hidden sexuality, not my fault."

"Unless you drove her to it."

"I'm not that bad."

"Yes you are."

"There are days when I hate you."

"I don't blame you."

"Second divorce: said the wrong name at the altar, kind of my fault."

"Completely your fault."

"I couldn't help it."

"You could have helped it and you chose not to."

"…"

"You're going to tell me you hate me again, aren't you."

"Maybe."

"I still don't blame you."

"Third divorce: they shouldn't let you get married when you're that drunk and have stuff all over your face, Nevada's fault."

"You can't blame a state."

"Sure I can, I just did."

"You would never have gotten married if you didn't love the person you were getting married to. You said her name at the altar the second and third time. You don't accidentally marry people."

"Padma—"

"You love me, Seamus. We've been through hell together and we're meant to be together. Why can't you grow up and accept that?"

"I'm very grown up—"

"You're not. You still think you're in love with my sister, and you've been trying to get her back. A few hints: marrying me after saying my name at your wedding to her was not your best idea—"

"I was drunk—"

"And you're doing nothing to help your case by coming here, to my house, just to tell me that you don't love. What do you really think you're proving?"

"I'm not trying to prove anything."

"You're doing a damn fine job of proving that you do, in fact, have feelings for me."

"…Do you feel the same way?"

"Do you think I'd have married you if I didn't?"

"We were drunk—"

"Stop using that as an excuse."

"It's not an excuse, it's the—"

"…"

"…You taste good."

"You already knew that."

"I love you."

"I know."

love is in the hands that reach out

baby, don't waste this chance, 'cause it might not come back around

A/N: This is in answer to the T.V. show competition at the HPFC. My quote was from the TV show Friends, and it had to be between 250 and 500 words. The lyrics are from Deas Vail's song "Sixteen." I hope you've enjoyed it.
