Large tearful eyes looked up at her master's cold expression, and Aro found himself frowning at his new play-thing. The room was dark, with candles the only light source in the freezing room; but he could still see the fear in its eyes. Frowning to himself, the vampire reached down into his play-thing's confines and smoothed down the frazzled brown hair. Trembling under his touch, the play-thing shuddered once again as its' master gave a command.

"Speak."

"…"

"It's simple, really. Now speak."

"-Ee-!"

"Marvelous!" Aro said, reaching once again into his play-thing's pen. "Unfortunately, little one, you've outgrown your only redeeming quality – which I assure you, was fun while it lasted," he said sinisterly, "And I must dispose of you. It's been wonderful to know you."

Crack!

He sighed as his play-thing fell to the ground with a gentle 'thud' before walking out of his room. Outside, Demetri, who'd been asked to wait for Aro outside his room, was leaning against the stone wall. Smiling at one of his guards, Demetri arched an eyebrow at the controlling vampire who was giving him an unusually happy smile, despite it being clear daylight outside.

"I need a new play-thing, Demetri, go get one for me."

"You killed your hamster? Again? You haven't even had it a day yet."

He waved him off dismissively; "Yes, yes… The time frame for which I owned her is of no importance. Now, I prefer a small animal. Maybe a puppy this time! Oh! Or better yet; what's the Cullen boy been doing lately?"
