"Hey Roy."
Roy looked up from his homework. "Hey Mullet. What's up?"
Mullet shook his shaggy, blonde head, and shrugged his shoulders. "Nothin'. Wanna go out in the 'glades?"
"Nah. I'm not done yet." Said Roy. Since starting his sophmore year in high school, Roy had become much more focused on his studies. He was set on becoming a veterinarian, and he needed good grades to do that. "I'll meet you and Bee in the Gazebo."
"Bee can't come, man. She's busy." Said Mullet.
"Why?" asked Roy. He wished that she could come. He really liked her, and wanted to see her.
"She's with her 'boyfriend'… Jamie." said Mullet. Obviously, he didn't care for Jamie, and just because he had ruined his chance with Beatrice, Roy didn't like him either.
"Gross." Said Roy. "Then I guess I'll see you later."
"Bye." said Mullet, and he hopped out the open window.
Man, did that suck. Beatrice, with a boyfriend? He had just expected her to like him back… I mean, they were best friends. Well, besides Mullet. Mullet was Roy's best guy friend. They hung out all the time, talked about girls, and all that stuff. They were buds. But Bee… She was so open about life and what she wanted out of it. She and Roy went on for hours about what they thought about issues in FL, and what they wanted to be when they grew up. She was Roy's first serious friendship.
And he had wanted her to be his first serious relationship. He had pictured them dating, kissing… well, you get the idea. He really liked her. He thought she was the only girl he would ever like. Well, until he met Jilly and Carlin. He hadn't realized that you could like two girls at once!
