"What, do you like me or something?"
and he asks it in this appalled tone, like it's a bad thing.
but is it?
and you start to worry:
well, why did you ask him out?
he's not even your age!
what if he's already going with someone else?
and then,
crap.
why did you do that?
"No," you snort in feigning disgust. "You're just the first person I saw that looked suitable."
and he just raises his eyebrows at your sudden
-change of mood-
and then he looks almost
...confused.
weird.
"Forget this," you say, much too quickly. "I'll go check out Zabini."
"Check him out? He's not a grocery store, Astoria."
...
"How do you know my name?" you ask,
and he's confused again.
you're starting to find this confused expression of his to be quite cute.
again, weird.
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Why would you?"
"Why should I have even learned your name if you talk to me like this?"
again, ...
awkward.
really, really awkward.
this is why you hardly ever ask out boys.
it nearly always ends in disaster.
and never with an actual date.
should you be concerned?
"Tell you what, Astoria. Stop acting like a daft idiot and I'll say yes."
yet again, ...
"Er..."
"Well?"
"Okay! I'll...See you later!"
and then you run before he can change his mind,
not knowing that he wasn't planning on that,
or that he's looking forward to Saturday with you.
and what are you going to wear?
...
again, crap.
