A/N: Because if I think about Need You Now one more time, my head will implode. And Brody is like hot. Like really, really hot. It almost makes up for not getting St. Berry action this season. Almost. I like Rachel with everyone, except Finn. Honestly they just were not compatible and after highschool ended it wRachel her as only time before reality crashed down on them.

"You look like retarded duck, Rachel!"

"Yes, Ms. Jully. I will try to improve upon my pirouettes in my spare time after class." Rachel answered her dance teacher calmly. The older blonde woman frowned at her students' strange content smile and the fact she didn't getting the big rise she expected out of the normally highstrong girl, Ms Jully humfed and walked away from Rachel and began her lecture on the french ballet to her class. Her speech was lost on Rachel who's mind began to wander once again on to the boy with the spiky chestnut hair, dreamy hazel-green eyes and winning smile.

Rachel thought back to yesterday, she hardly believed Brody when he handed her an old, worn, six by six photo of a skinny boy, in an ill fitting suite, dorky red bowtie and unibrow while he telling her that is his senior year photo.

This scrawny boy hardly looks like the handesome man that stood before her.

Yet, Rachel does believe him.

Brody's face is too red with genuine embarressed for him not to be honest. Rachel truely appreciated the way Brody showed her this embarressing picture just in attempt to cheer her up when he noticed Rachel was feeling praticularly home sick.

Rachel also believes him because behind the thick and wide rimmed glasses and that horrendus haircut Rachel can still see the Brody she has came to know very well in the past few months here in New York. She can see in this years old picture that trade mark smile and strong jawline.

But the last reason she believes him is not so obvious, Brody's personality can only come from the a past that is so similar to her own.

Rachel came to the sudden realization that every guy she has ever dated, be it Jesse, Finn, or Noah, they never experienced what she has, they never suffered the way she did during high school.

Jesse was the shining star of Carmel. Puck was McKinly High's ultimate player and badass. Finn was the popular quaterback and king at her school. While Rachel was at the very bottom of the social pyramid and bullied daily.

It is because of this, Brody understands her in a way that her old boyfriends never could.

Brody's small hometown that emphasized football and ignored the arts. A skinny teenage boy interested in Broadway who hasn't yet reached his growth spurt was an easy target to the jocks and popular kids at his highschool.

Even now, in New York at NYADA with his make over and all the girls Brody has pratically falling over themselves to be with him, Rachel can still see that nerdy boy from Montana he is on the inside. Maybe because if Rachel gained every once of fame she ever wanted, inside she will still always be that brash girl from Lima, Ohio.

New York is making her grow up because Rachel thinks she is finaly learning what is good for her. And she knows who that is, Brody.

He is everything she needs, just when she needs it.

When Rachel feels so alone in this big, unfamiliar and scary city, Brody is her rock. When Miss July is so hard on her Rachel just wants to go on the first plane back to Lima. Brody is there. Reasuring her and complimenting her until she believes him too.

No more bad boys, no more fickle boys that never stand up for her, no more boys that will stab her in the back just to further their own career.

Brody is the one she wants and needs right now.
