A/N: I wrote this a while ago and thought, hey, might as well post it.

Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I don't own Supernatural. If I did, Sam Winchester would be coddled 24/7

What is Death to a Winchester?

Death.

Pain, suffering.

Loss, grief.

Heaven, hell.

All too familiar for a Winchester.

Family? Friends?

Gone.

Burying loved ones,

The most well-known routine to the brothers.

Does the blood of those deaths lay upon them?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

It would seem reasonable for the death of each other to not affect them,

After all,

It is a common occurrence.

Although the perish of a loved one seems to leave an empty void of grief in our souls,

A permanent mark reminding us of that person in which we lost.

Maybe this is a feeling that the brothers are scarred with.

The emptiness expanding with each death,

Building until one day they no longer feel.

Will we know for sure?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

After all,

What is death to a Winchester?
