Half A World Away
He had been there through everything. The ups. The downs. The good and the bad. But just like that he was gone.
It was a Tuesday when he first told her. She didn't believe him; you see he always joked about going. He tried again on Wednesday but she just laughed. He tried again on Thursday but she smiled at him and kept on walking. It was Friday when she realised he wasn't lying.
Boxes that where half full lay all around his house. She saw them and she knew. He was going, going for good. So she ignored him, telling her self it would be easier when he did go. But it wasn't.
She cried for days. No-one could get through to her. In situations like this he would be the only one who could but he wasn't around any more.
He would call. He would text. He would email. He even wrote to her once or twice, but she didn't answered; not even one.
It had been 5 years, but neither had forgotten. Both still missed each other terribly. She wouldn't admit. To everyone who asked about him she would reply "who's that?" before walking away." He would talk about her all the time. To everyone who asked about her he would reply "I love her" before smiling and walking away.
Neither thought they would see each other again. He was one place, she was another. They were half a world away from each other.
It was Christmas. The snow coved the streets and trees. She always loved the way it glistens in the early morning sun. So did he. She dodged the snowballs as she walked to town. He dodged the people as he walked to town. The centre was full but through the crow he saw her.
"Sonny?"
"Chad?"
