It was 2:37am and Kido found herself in the kitchen getting a mid-night snack. She hadn't been able to sleep. The cause? A short idiot. She took a small sip of her warm milk, wondering where the hell he could have gone. He said he was going for a small walk earlier however, that was exactly six hours ago.

Suddenly she heard the sound of a door lock clicking.

Kido blinked and walked into the living room, being greeted by the familiar short figure of a boy with a black hood on, his golden locks slightly covering his piercing, yellow eyes. "...Kano, you're home..." she mumbled, her own black eyes scanning his figure to make sure he was in one piece.

'Took him long enough' she thought, letting a soft sigh escape her lips. He gave her a grin and pulled her into an embrace."Yeah, I'm home, Kido..." he murmured into her shoulder. "Don't leave like that again, you idiot," she mumbled back, holding him close.

They stood in that position for a few minutes before Kido got flustered and pulled back, scratching the back of her head. "S-So, how was the walk? You were out for quite a while." Kano let out a chuckle, "It was fun! So... will Kido tell me what she's doing up so late?" The girl adverted her gaze, shrugging. "No special reason, I just couldn't sleep."

Kano blinked at her response, only to grin wider. "Kido's trying to lie, it's too obvious! Could it be that..." He gave a small, fake gasp to which to which Kido scowled at. "Could be what?" she asked, her scowl deepening. He leaned in close and poked her forehead with his index finger. "Kido-chan was worried about me!"

She rolled her eyes, arms crossing over her chest, scowl still visible. "As if. You're old enough to worry about yourself, Kano. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going back to bed." With that, she began to walk back to her room.

Half way across the living room she paused and glanced over her shoulder to look at the blond. "You get some rest soon too, alright, Kano?" He nodded and gave her a thumbs up. "Alright, leader!"

Kido nodded in satisfaction, a smile spreading across her face as she continued making her way to her room. "By the way, you look cute in your night gown." Her face flushed at the compliment and she turned back to face him, face a rosy red.

"D-Don't say things like that like it's nothing, you idiot!" Kano only laughed in reply, his smile still in place. Taking a deep breath she turned back around. "…Goodnight, Shuuya."

"Goodnight, Tsubomi..." His smile softened, even though he knew she couldn't see it. He heard the sound of her door close and began his retreat to his own room. As he passed by hers, he paused just for a moment, whispering something he was sure only he could hear. Grinning to himself, he made his way into his room, leaving their base silent, save for the quiet ticking of a clock.

He didn't know the fact that his whisper was actually heard by the person behind that door, and that her face was flushed in red once more as she lay in her bed. As she drifted off to her dream land, his whisper echoed in her mind, leaving a warm feeling in her chest.

"… I love you, Tsubomi"
