"Awah, Professor!"
"Run, Luke! Get away from here!"
"R-right! Aaah!"
With startled cries, Layton and Luke spun around and fled from the pursuing ferris wheel. The ran about the park, and for some reason, the wheel was always right behind them.
"Professor, I think it's chasing after us!" Luke gasped, turning his head quickly to peak at the park attraction. It was certainly staying on their tail the whole time.
"What? That's preposterous!" Layton answered, but he started to have his doubts when he too checked over his shoulder. Gripping his top hat, the British gentleman pounded his feet harder, Luke just ahead of him. When it became clear that they weren't going to outrun the giant wheel, Layton sped up and made a grab for his apprentice.
Snap.
"PROFESSOR!"
Layton lifted his head from where he lay on the ground. 'No… oh no.'
Luke was just ahead of him, close to the lake. "Pro… Pro… Pro…."
"Oh, Luke."
Getting to his knees, Layton crawled over to the ten-year-old. 'No no no….' His adopted son was twitching, limbs unable to move. "Pro… Profess… Profess…!"
"Why did this happen?" Layton wondered aloud. "Oh, Luke, I'm so sorry."
"D… Daddy…."
This broke Layton's heart, and he couldn't even move his arm to shut Luke's eyes. "Luke!"
In the trees, the Great Don Paolo snarled and shoved the antenna on the remote that controlled the ferris wheel down. "Blast. At least I got his little helper. Next time, Layton won't be so lucky!"

Sorry it was so sad, but I've just wanted to see Luke die, even though I love him. I'm a sensitive person, so reviews are appreciated, even if it's to yell at me.
