Kili ran his fingers tenderly over the gentle curves of her beautiful body, cooing in contentment.
"You're perfect," he breathed, his face glowing with pure happiness.
She remained silently coy.
"I will treasure you forever," Kili promised, hugging her tightly, relishing her smooth body pressed against his.
"Kili, it's been two days!" An exasperated voice rang out, interrupting him rudely from his reverie.
Kili ignored the intruder and continued to fawn over her, his eyes drinking in every detail of her perfection.
"Leave us to our happiness," he said blithely, absently waving away his brother.
Fili growled and resisted the urge to stamp his foot like he was a petulant dwarf of twenty.
"Kili, you are a sick, sick dwarf," Fili needled his brother, shaking his head sadly.
"Dear brother, you're just jealous," Kili said calmly, not even bothering to look up at him.
"I am not jealous!" Fili snapped, pouting unconsciously. It had been two days since her arrival, two days since Kili had been completely entranced by her, two days since he had seemed to forgotten completely about the existence of his older brother.
No, Fili was not jealous. He was just concerned. Very, extremely concerned.
Wracking his brains, Fili tried an alternative suggestion. "Don't you think you should bring her out to the fields? To show the others?"
Kili hugged her protectively. "No! She might get hurt out in the fields!"
Reaching the end of his patience, Fili finally snapped, "Kili! It's a bow! Where else are you going to use it?"
"She's not just a bow!" Kili glared fiercely, his eyes softening as he looked upon his brand new, gleaming wooden bow that Uncle Thorin had just bestowed upon him.
"She's my soulmate," Kili sighed theatrically. "We were made for each other."
Fili rolled his eyes skywards and gave up trying to talk to his obsessed brother that was currently fondling his bow.
Throwing up his hands in exasperation, he muttered crossly, "Suit yourself! I'm going for my training."
As he headed out the door, he hoped his ears heard the faint words of his brother wrongly. For they were extremely disturbing.
"My precious."
