A/N ;; This was originally written for somebody on Tumblr and uploaded there, but since I'm deleting my Tumblr, I figured I might as well upload it here.

This was my first time writing Belgium, so the character might be a little off. I don't know much about her.

Lame title, I know, but I'm never good for thinking of titles for drabbles.

Enjoy.

The Little Things

It's his smile that catches her attention.

They're spontaneous, those little quirks of his lips, but just like a hook, she is snagged at first glance.

They begin with random, polite greetings, but it doesn't take long until they're chatting in the elevator, exchanging little stories and laughter.

Soon, he begins to seek her out, and every time she sees him, she is presented with a smile that makes her heart–

Stop.

Skip.

Beat.

They're on a personal name basis within time, and she finds delight in the way her name flows so smoothly from his lips, tinted with a subtle French accent that brings a blush to her cheeks.

She's conscious of him, of his every movement. She jolts as her hand brushes against his as he serves her a fresh plate of his homemade pancakes, and he simply grins, whispering, "Bon appetite, Belle."

He's charming and endearing, but she can't help but silently cheer for herself the first time she brings a blush to his cheeks. She brushes a feather-light kiss against his cheek, pulls back with a small smile, and watches as red floods his skin. He keeps his eyes pinned on the plate of waffles in front of him, and she rejoices in victory.

They spend many hours debating which are better – pancakes or waffles – but their arguments always end in laughter. His eyes light up when he laughs, she notices, and before long, she finds herself striving to see that light.

She falls in love with the little things, the things that no one else seems to notice – his eyes, his smile, and his timing.

Because when he mutters, "Tu as mon coeur pour toujours. My heart is yours forever."

She can't help but think, "Yes, this is what I've been waiting for."
