Meeting Derek Landy
On the ninth of September, my mum and me went to Waterstone in Bluewater in the morning and purchased the seventh book in the Skulduggery Pleasant book series. Because the author of the series was at Waterstones signing copies of the book we joined the already large que where I met a year six girl named Lucy and her mum and sister who were big fans of the series.
Lucy and myself kept chatting about the series and how excited we were and in the que was a boy dressed as Skulduggery Pleasant and the costume was amazingly detailed. Eventually Derek Landy came along with two members of Waterstones staff and I nearly hyperventaliated in front of him which was so embarresing but luckily I calmed down.
The line slowly got closer to the shop and people were losing patience but I was not. when it mine and lucy's turn I could not stop smiling as my heart beat increased also my legs began to shake because I was about to meet my favourite author. I gave Derek the book and he said that he loved my name which just added to my great experience of meeting such a fantastic author, i asked if there was going to be a film out and he said that there might be and I had a picture taken with Derek as well.
I told Drek that next time he has a book signing i will be dressing as Valkyrie Cain who is Skulduggery's partner and friend in the series and he said that he could not wait with a smile then I left with a huge smile on my face for the rest of the day.
so all in all it was the BEST DAY EVER and WELL WORTH THE THREE AND A HALF HOUR WAIT!
