After Ayano chased Kazuma around with enriha, for about an hour, almost burning down the Kannagi compound. Kazuma convinced her to dematerialize enriha by telling her he would take her out to a fancy restaurant and offering to pay for their meal. Ayano gladly excepted his invitation but told him not to be a pervert at dinner. She told him to pick her up at the gate at seven thirty.
As Ayano ran towards the main house Kazuma could have sworn that he saw a light dusting of pink coating her cheeks. He was hoping this was because of him asking her out on a dinner date. He would never tell her he wanted this to be a date. As far as he could tell right now her pride outweighed her feelings and if he asked her out she would reject him being blinded by her pride. What Kazuma didn't know was at this very moment the pink haired fire princess was preparing for the night, hoping that this would be their first date, but she would never tell him that.
As Kazuma was heading to his apartment to prepare for the evening he was in somewhat of a daze thinking of all the recent missions Ayano and him had been on and all of Jugo's antics, trying to bring them closer. When in all honesty the reason he came back after all that time was to be with Ayano and be closer to his little brother.
Kazuma was ten minutes ahead of time when he arrived at the Kannagi compound dressed in his best suit to wait for Ayano. When Ayano was leaving in her stunning dress for the evening through the main house Jugo stopped her and told her to behave, be well mannered, and to have fun. Ayano didn't understand what this meant all she knew is that she wanted this to end as a date. Secretly Kazuma was hoping for the exact same thing.
When they arrived at the restaurant they were escorted to a table with a window view of the city. Kazuma ordered steak and a bottle of the restaurant's best red wine while Ayano ordered their most expensive meal on the menu. As they were eating their dinner Kazuma couldn't hold it back just looking at the beautiful dress she was in just imagining all of her being his he just couldn't tell if she wanted a relationship or not. Ayano was actually starting to fall for Kazuma wondering if he had gotten over Sui-Ling. Kazuma was wondering how she hadn't noticed all the lust full stares he was gesturing towards her from across the table when she asked a shocking question?
