A.N.: Hey, guys! This is my first legit D Annie (stupid computer) fic, so tell me what you think of it! And yes, the Doctor Who stuff is completely intentional. One of my great IRL buddies (Dual-Hearted Hero) is working to convert me... slowly but surely!
Danny was beyond nervous. He had been wanting to do this for a long time, and now he was. He was going to take Annie Rosemary Scrambler out on a date. His heart skipped a beat just thinking about her. In his mind, she had no faults. He only hoped that she felt the same way towards him. He would die if this ruined everything they had together.
He sighed as he looked in the mirror. Quite frankly, there was no way that he could look nicer without taking overdressing to the extreme.
"Just do it," he said to his reflection before heading out. He kept thinking over his plan, over and over.
They were going to meet up in the park over by the apple tree before going to see a movie starring one of her favorite actors. Afterward, he'd suggest that they go get milkshakes at The Electric Diner; his treat. Then, he would walk her home and maybe, just maybe, kiss her on the cheek.
He walked towards the park, completely freaking out. Was he overdressed? Would she expect flowers? What if he hated the movie? What if... what if they ran into The Electric Company?
"Hey, Danny," came a voice from above, "You look nice." He looked up to find Keith sitting in a tree above him wearing khakis and a polo.
"Likewise."
"So, who's the lucky girl?" There was a smile on Keith's face, one Danny had rarely seen, like there was nowhere else on earth that the kind of bizarre musician would rather be.
"Annie. What about you?" Keith laughed.
"Why do you think that I'm going on a date? I could be dressed up on a whim."
"A) Your whims usually involve chocolate pudding and/or showtunes. B) I know you."
"Okay, okay. You got me. I was on a date. But now I'm not."
"How come?"
"Well, according to Diane Morrow, yelling 'don't blink' during a date isn't appropriate." Danny chuckled.
"Oh."
"Yeah. I bet Annie wouldn't mind you doing something like that. You two are good for each other."
"I hope so."
"Trust me. You can't always see it, but we all can."
"Oh, like you and Jessica?"
They stared at each other for a few awkward moments.
"Sure," Keith finally said.
"Do you have any other pointers?"
"Be yourself. Annie likes you for you, not what she thinks you should be. Have fun!" He jumped out of the tree.
"Where are you going?" Danny asked.
"I'm going to follow my own advice. You are going to find Annie and sweep her off her feet." He turned around and began walking towards the diner.
"Danny! Danny!" He turned around to see Annie in her rainbow plaid dress (his favorite) but with no cardigan or tights.
"Why were you talking to Keith?" she asked.
"Just getting a few words of encouragement."
"Is that so? What did he tell you?"
"Don't blink." And he kissed her.
A.N.:AW! I think it's so cute! What about you? Review and tell me, please!
