The 2018 Yearly 365 Challenge

Prompt #7 (Location) Blossom House

"Why did you ask me here?" Betty frowned as she wrapped her arms tightly across her chest.

"Can't I ask my newly found out cousin over for a visit?" Cheryl tilted her head to the right.

"No." Betty blunty spat out. Her frown deepened. "Don't try to play nice to me because we know we are related to one another Cheryl; not after everything you had put me through over the years." Her head lifted higher.

"Oh come on Cousin I'm not the only family member whom has treated you like shit. I'm not even in the line of the closest family member to try to destroy your life since your childhood." Cheryl walked over the table that held the wine cantor.

"Don't even." Betty snarled.

Cheryl smirked. At least she doesn't allow anyone to truly destroy her. She sighed as she turned to face Betty once more. "You are right too much history has passed between you and I ... for me to try to play a kind family member towards you." She held up her hand. "I won't try to play the family card with you. But I won't try to destroy you any longer ... after all I haven't since we learned that Polly was carrying Jason's children."

Betty had to swallow the bile in her thoart at the thought of the twins ... how they were incest children.

"Jason never knew the truth. If he had then he never even would have tried to romance Polly. Falling in love with family members wasn't Jason's style after all." Cheryl read the mistrust in Betty's blue green eyes correctly. "I meant what I said on the births of Dagwood and Jupitor ... I want to be part of their lives ... and I know that in order to do that ... I have to stop trying to destroy you."

"Fair enough." Betty nodded.

Cheryl sighed. "Okay then."

"Then I'll be off." Betty started for the hallway.

"You don't have to rush off." Cheryl sighed. "I mean can't you try to relax here."

Betty paused and half turned. "I'm sorry but no."

Cheryl silently watched her cousin leave her sight. Baby steps.
