A/N: I just needed to write and there is another story invading my brain these days but I'm finding it very hard to put it down, hence this story which has borrowed some of the sentences reserved for the other story.

Don't go
He was staring intently at her, watching her every move. His heart rate quickened when she looked up at him and smiled. Normally he would have shifted his gaze, ashamed of being caught staring at her so openly, but today was different. He was different. He was scared, scared to death of losing her, which was strange, because he didn't have her to begin with.
Even before she came to work here everyone knew she was off limits. It didn't stop most of the lab techs from flirting with her. It most definitely didn't stop him. Catherine would send him warning looks, but he didn't care. Her flirtatious behavior towards him was a pleasant surprise. It gave him reason to hope the rumors weren't true. The rumors which said she was spoken for.
His hopes were crushed the day other rumors started to circulate around the lab. She had asked Grissom out to dinner. No other woman could have hurt him so badly, but he couldn't hate her, especially when he slowly watched her loose herself after that day.
He tried to reach out to her, but she had pulled up the walls even higher if that was even possible. The pain her rejection was causing him was becoming unbearable, but he would never stop trying, which brought him to today, to this very moment.
He was still staring at her, but now she was staring back until the ringing of her phone distracted her. She offered him a small smile before heading for the door of the DNA lab. It was that very moment he felt fear surrounding his heart. He got up and tried to catch up with her. He finally reached her just before she would open the heavy doors of the exit of the lab.
He reached out and caught her arm. He startled her, causing her to back away from him.
"Sara......" He needed to catch his breath. She looked at him questioningly, but to his surprise she didn't look annoyed.
"Don't go." As soon as his words left his mouth he realized he didn't know what to say to back them up. He would have to do better than that to get her to do what he said, to make her stay here, to make her stay with him.
He expected her to laugh at him, to turn around and walk away. He could hear his heart pounding in his ears. His eyes were fixed on her mouth anxiously waiting for her to say something which would confirm his fears of losing her.
After an excruciating long time, which probably only lasted a couple of seconds, he watched her pop out her phone. He felt his heart rate slow down as he heard her ask Warrick if he could go and meet Grissom at the crime scene. He heard her tell Warrick something important came up and she couldn't go herself and while she was saying that her eyes connected with his. She smiled softly at him.
Today he didn't need to explain.
