Meet Richard Castle, he's a writer of fame
with more than a dozen bestsellers attached to his name.
But somehow lately he's just not up to form,
he killed off his main character Derrick Storm.
His publisher says when his next book is due,
but with writer's block, what is he to do?
Then along comes Kate Beckett of the NYPD,
serious and tough with a dark history.
Two people were murdered just like in his books
by a crazy fan, at least that's how it looks.
Castle tags along, making Beckett irate
(though the cast says itemhood's in their fate.)
Beckett's immune to Castle's charm and wit
and when he steals evidence, she arrests him for it.
But his writer's mind gives her a new lead,
They catch the guy who committed the deed.
Castle helps solve the case and to Beckett's relief,
he's out of her hair but that moment is brief.
The writer needs research for his new character,
and thanks to the mayor he gets to shadow her.
So every Monday they have a new case
and viewers wait in suspense for the murderer's face.
But it's not all serious and among other things,
their cases involve drugs and stolen rings,
a consort and bombs, a dominatrix or two,
Russians, and poker with the rest of the crew.
Though Beckett tells Castle she's wearing a gun,
the banter between them is what make the show fun.
Castle analyzes Beckett for his book a lot
(You know he's just writing about her 'cause she's (hot) tall)
Now a crime-fighting duo of the very best kind,
they'd even put Scully and Mulder behind.
With three seasons and counting, it's gonna be fun,
so please ABC, don't cancel this one!
