Jedi Master Yoda had begun to think that there wasn't anything in the galaxy that could truly surprise him. Until a x-wing landed not far from his home on Dagobah.
It couldn't be Luke, for the young man wasn't ready to be trained by him yet.
His surprise grew when a young woman climbed out of the ship.
She was small for a human, standing only at about 5' 4", she had long dark brown hair pulled back into a loose ponytail, and eyes the color of the sapphire stone.
What really caught his attention, was her power in the Force. She was very strong in the Force.
She went to him.
"Master Yoda?" she asked.
He blinked, surprised that she knew who he was.
"Yoda I am. Who are you?"
She bowed.
"I am Cas Dooku."
For the first time in centuries, he was stunned speechless.
"D-Dooku, say did you?" he finally managed to ask.
She nodded.
"Tyln Dooku was my father."
How was that even possible? She could be no older than twenty-five, which would mean that Dooku would have been almost eighty when she was born.
He pulled his thoughts back to the present.
"Why come to me have you?"
"My father told me much about you when he was alive, and his spirit led me here to be trained to control and use my powers."
He frowned slightly.
"Strong you are in the Force, young one, but much fear and anger I sense in you."
"Master Yoda, I must be trained by a Jedi or Vader and the Emperor may seek to train me."
Yoda quickly realized this was true. He sighed.
"My apprentice you shall be."
The weeks passed, and Cas was learning quickly, much like her father had.
She was currently meditating, and Yoda took the time to study her.
She was alike and different from her father in many ways. She had the same intense stare, though her eyes were blue while his had been brown, she had the same color hair he'd had in his younger days, and she had some of the same facial features, though hers were more feminine, which made her look more noble as he had. Unlike her father, however, Cas was small and delicately built, while Dooku had been tall, towering at 6' 4", and broadly and powerfully build.
Personality wise, there were also some similarities and differences. She had his temper, though Cas was harder to bring to anger than her father, she inherited his stubborn streak, his cunning and intelligence, his eagerness to learn, and his wisdom was beginning to show through as she learned. She was far less competitive, more cautious, not as reckless, not as prideful, more open with emotions and affections, and had a more gentle nature than her father.
The night before he was going to take her to the cave to be tested by the Darkside, Yoda sat in his hut meditating.
Cas was asleep in her makeshift hammock outside.
He drew the Force around him.
"Master."
He blinked.
"Master."
Looking over, he found himself staring at the ghost of Tyln Dooku, dressed as a Jedi.
"Dooku."
His late apprentice smiled.
"Hello, Master."
"Why here are you?"
Dooku sat on a stool as though he was still flesh and blood.
"I've been watching you, and I just wanted to thank you for taking her in and training her."
"Much training she still needs."
He nodded.
"Yes, I know, but I have faith in her. I have faith, that as long as you tell her the truth about me, she will not make the same mistakes or end up on the same doomed path I did."
"Hide the truth from her I will not."
Dooku smiled and stood.
"Thank you, Master."
He disappeared.
"She is my legacy; my legacy of light."
