A/N I do not own One Piece (and if I did I would surely not write something like this, since I love all the characters and wouldn't want any of them to die )

Inspired by Moohgough's story Insanity.

This is my first serious… uhm… my first finished fanfiction, so I hope you like it

"ZORO!!"

With clenched teeth the rubber boy watched his first mate fall. Blood found its way through Zoros throat and spread in the air above him as he hit the ground knocking the back of his head hard against the bricks below him. "Sorry," he gasped while coughing up blood.

His body started trembling and sweat was now visible on his face. He tried to focus on Luffys face, as the captain kneeled besides him, but he couldn't, because of the blood now sliding down his cheeks from the corner of both his eyes. "Zoro," the rubber boy whispered with tears in his eyes.

"What's… with… the sad… look?" the swordsman asked slowly as he was having a hard time speaking.

More blood got coughed up and stained his white shirt, which were now turning dark red. But nevertheless a brave smile had become visible on his face and when Luffy saw that he instinctively burst into tears. "Zoro," he murmured as his tears fell on the swordsman's chest, "Don't leave me."

"Sorry," Zoro whispered and closed his eyes.

It looked as if he was crying with red tears. The loud breath stopped and Zoros chest no longer moved. Zoros body no longer moved. The shivers had disappeared and the swordsman was lying completely still not making one single sound. "Zoro?" the boy asked while wiping away his tears.

The first mate didn't answer, but just continued to smile up towards the sky, while blood stained his clothe and face. "What's wrong Zoro? Why are you so silent?" the captain asked with a scared voice.

Still he got no answer, but just the brave smile. "Zoro? You're gonna make it, right?"

"In a minute I'll hear you snoring and I'll know that you're okay, right?"

Luffys voice was shaking uncontrollable and his eyes were rapidly shifting from the face to the chest of the swordsman. He didn't know what to do or what to say, so he just kept asking with a frightened tone of voice: "You're okay, right Zoro? You're okay, right?"

But Zoro never answered him. He never spoke a word. And when the rest of the crew found the two of them Luffy where still hopelessly asking if his first mate was going to be okay. Sanji had to drag Luffy with them back to the Going Merry, because the captain refused to leave the swordsman. "He's gonna be okay!" Luffy yelled while Sanji dragged him away, "He's just tired now! But he's gonna be alright!"

Desperately Luffy tried to escape from the cook, but when he finally got loose he only ran three steps towards the body of the first mate before his legs collapsed beneath him. "Zoro!" he screamed.

Unaware he reached out towards the corpse, which was lying on the ground a few meters away, with an open hand and tears streaming down his cheeks. His whole body was shaking as he cried out: "WHY THE HELL DID YOU HAVE TO GO SLIP IN THAT BANANA SKIN?!"
