She just swallows down the tears so it wouldn't hurt more. Because Dawn knows that Faith really isn't herself right now.
She knows that Faith loves her. And it really doesn't matter if Faith hits her from time to time when she's drunk. Because she isn't herself.
And Dawn also knows that Buffy knows what Faith does. And Dawn knows that Buffy doesn't care. But at least she knows that Faith cares. It doesn't matter that she hits Dawn. But it matters that she loves Dawn.
And if Dawn wants to leave, for the 10th time now, Faith will block the door and tell her that she loves Dawn and she won't drink ever again. And Dawn knows that Faith is lying, but it doesn't matter.
