Hero

"It's not your fault,"
"You can't take the blame,"
Not knowing the truth,
They tell me again.

I'm just "plain old Clark",
Just your average guy.
But I'm not like them . . .
And I don't know why.

Always different, always hiding,
And never the same.
I just want to be normal,
And join in their games.

Instead I have a secret
Burning a hole in my heart,
And a hero's destiny,
In which I'm forced to take part.

The world has decided
What I'm going to be.
It doesn't care what I want . . .
