Love Within Power
Kaoru ran into the dojo, panting. " Where's Kenshin? " She asked Yahiko.
" He went fishing, " Yahiko replied. He grabbed the bokuto. " I thought we would practice, Kaoru. " He went into his favorite posture of the Kamiya Kasshin style.
" No. Not today, " Kaoru said. She ran out of the house again. The water droplets gleam on her raven black hair and purple lavender kimono. She was looking for Kenshin. Bokuto out and ready to help her defend herself. Where could Kenshin possibly be? No.... he couldn't... Kaoru thought. The muddy water she stepped on made her kimono dirtier then it already was, which made it really dirty. She saw Sonosuke fishing, but where was Kenshin? He was missing! She ran up to Sonosuke. " Did you see Kenshin? " She asked Sonosuke.
" No, I didn't, " he said, shaking his head gently. He felt a tug on the rod, and reeled a fish in. He grabbed it and gave it to Kaoru. " We'll have this guy for dinner, I hope. "
" Thanks, Sonosuke. " She ran around the line of fishers until she spotted something. A man with long, red hair and a scar? " Kenshin? " She ran over to the man.
" Hello, Miss Kaoru! " The man smiled, and his blue eyes gleamed as the water droplets fell past his eyes. He continued to tug onto the rod until he felt a gentle tug. A catch! If we eat any more fish for dinner, I'll barf, Kaoru thought.
" What are you doing here, Miss Kaoru? I thought you and Yahiko were supposed to train! " He smiled again, and turned his head to the river.
" No. Not today, " she said. " I wanted to relax, that's all. Can I sit next to you? " She asked, even if she already knew the answer. The rain began to stop.
" Sure, Miss Kaoru. " He patted the grass next to him. She sat down. " I like the rain, " she continued, letting the water sroplets drizzle her index fingers. He turned back to fishing.
Kaoru couldn't help sneaking glances at him when he wasn't looking. Why can't I just admit it? she thought. Why can't I tell him how I really feel? That I love him?! She smiled every time she looked at him. The rain began to settle. She started to walk away until she almost fell. At the last minute, Kenshin ran quickly to pick her up. " Miss Kaoru! " Kenshin gasped.
" Kenshin. . . " She got up, and they sat down in another field, alone. When they sat down, she continued to get closer to him, until finally their hips touched. Kenshin turned to look at her. He turned his head to hers, his lips ready to meet with hers. Please don't hold back now, Kaoru thought. And he didn't. He didn't.
