"What a day!" dad says as he walks into the kitchen. "Good or bad day?" I ask as I help him pull stuff out for dinner. "It was a good day. We finally caught the killer so yay for us!" he says as he pumps his fist in the air like a four year old. I love my dad but sometimes I feel like our roles are reversed. "So what's the game plan for dinner tonight?" I ask as I look at all the stuff we got out to fix. "We are having grilled chicken, corn on the cob, salad. For desert we are going to have ice cream and brownies." Dad says as he starts to get to work. "Why such a good diner just for you, gram, and me?" I ask has I movie out of his way. "Someone is coming over, and wait do I need a reason to cook a nice diner for my family?" "No but your nice clean cloths and the fact that your wearing colon tells me that someone, like detective Beckett, is coming over. So am I right? No wait don't answer I know I am." I say. "Yes she is coming over and stop being so smug about it!" he says. "Fine no more poking fun at you anymore dad." I say as I walk up stairs to get ready.
"I had a really nice time everyone but I do have work in the morning so I have to go." Beckett says as she gets up to leave. "Here I'll walk you out." Dad says as they to the door. I fallow them to spy on what's going to happen as I suspect that they are hiding something from us. All night long I would see the take quick glances at each other. I peak around the corner to see dad pull Beckett into a kiss. It takes all my will power not to make a noise as I watch them. The kiss only last a moment before he releases her. They talk for a little bit and then after one last kiss she leaves. I move fast so that I'm not caught by dad and he turns the corner just as I make it the first stair. He looks up at me as I give him a smug look. "What?" he says. "Next time dad, don't be so obvious."
