…there they were…the soon-to-be nightmare of the citizens of Big City…the beings of destruction…made by Dr. Gero… the Androids…have finally come…my big brother and me…are their hostages…
/Flashback, 1 day earlier\
?: So, you remember the rules…right?
?: of course, Mom!
Mom: Good…oh, and if the androids-
?: -come, then I go straight to the Z Fighters and train w/ them!
Mom: !…Perfect! You remember them all correctly!…sweeties, we'll be out of town for a week & you're a 14 year old and Kyle is a 16 yr old…it just doesn't feel right to leave you on your own…Vanessa, you SURE that you'll be alright on your own? I mean, you could come w/ us-
Vanessa: I'll be okay, Mom. Besides, somebody has to watch the house because the neighbors moved, and my friends are in another town so…I have to stay here.
Kyle: Me too.
?: Kids, we love you very much, and we don't want you killed…you're sure you want to stay?
Vanessa: Dad, I'm SURE I wanna stay! And I'll get groceries before we run out of something every week, just like Mom does!
Dad:…alright, but…just…just promise me one thing.
Vanessa: What is it?
Dad: That you don't let those androids, 17 & 18, get to you or kidnap you guys…promise?
Vanessa: Promise. We'll try to hide if they come or I'll walk calmly to them and ask them what they want…Ha, what could possibly go wrong?
Kyle: Hey, you never know, Vanessa!
