Author's note: Here is the second poem I wrote. This one is about the raid on Miraz's castle. I wrote this poem over a year ago, and now, looking back, I realize that Peter really wasn't fighting for Aslan during the raid. But I think the rest of the Narnians were, and Edmund certainly was. So I didn't change the words. I don't think it would be the same if I did. But you can read it and judge for yourself. :)

Fighting for Aslan

by narniagirl11

Storming the castle

Was Peter's brilliant tactic

Sneaking through the night

Narnians attacked their foes

While the Telmarines dozed

Fighting for their dear homeland,

Fighting for their Kings,

Fighting for Aslan.

Swords clashing, nearby,

"For Narnia!" came the cry.

Panicked soldiers fled

Peter and Caspian fought

'Till victory seemed hopeless

Fighting for their dear homeland,

Fighting for their Kings,

Fighting for Aslan.

"The gate!" Edmund cried,

The gate was falling swiftly,

"Retreat!" yelled Peter.

Leaping the bridge on his horse,

Peter made it to safety.

Fighting for their dear homeland,

Fighting for their Kings,

Fighting for Aslan.

But sadly that day

Peter's brilliant tactic failed,

Many Narnians fell

To swords of the enemy

Never to arise again

Fighting for their dear homeland,

Fighting for their Kings,

Fighting for Aslan.

Later they captured,

Their troublesome enemies

Narnia triumphed

Over her captors and foes

And Caspian was crowned king

Fighting for their dear homeland,

Fighting for their Kings,

Fighting for Aslan.

At last it was time

For the Kings and Queens to leave

Peter and Susan,

Edmund and Lucy whirled home.

They would always remember,

Fighting for their dear homeland,

Fighting for their Kings,

Fighting for Aslan.
