A/n: Sparked by Sam's quote on pg 291 of Forever where he says "Why does everything feel like saying goodbye?" Had a bit of this in my mind before that and this is the final result of what that helped establish. Sadly I can't give you the music that I set to go with this but just imagine it. :P

Hello, Goodbye
Why does it feel like everything is goodbye?
Every "hello" is a fond farewell,
Each"welcome back" is a "see you soon",
Embrace upon meeting is departing as well.
Each time we meet its as you leave.
The time we have is never enough,
a time filled with the last time alone.
Hello, hello.
Goodbye, goodbye.
I'll see you soon,
when never again arrives.
We'll sail away, sail away
across the ocean and past the moon
to the land of another day.
I'll be safe in your arms
and you'll be safe in my love.
And each hello is another goodbye
but every goodbye is a "Hello, how are you, beautiful?"
The world will turn, time will pass, and more goodbyes will forever last.
But the two of us will live forever in the land of "Hello, love."
Why does it feel like each moment is another farewell?
Every friend met is a long lost memory of a distant stranger,
The first snow falls before the first flower blooms,
Each mornings arrival happens with the evenings disembarking.
Each time our eyes met its to say goodbye.
The time we have will never suffice,
the last time I will see you again.
Hello, hello.
Goodbye, goodbye.
Welcome back,
I'll see you at the end of time.
We'll sail away, sail away
through the stars and past the ice
to the land of another day.
You'll keep me warm in your love
and I'll keep you warm in my embrace.
Where each hello is a new goodbye
and each goodbye is a fresh, "Hello, I love you, wonderful."
And as the Earth turns, time flies, and others say their goodbyes
the two of us will remain forever in the country of "Hello, I love you."
Why does everything feel like goodbye?
Each journey goes in the wrong direction.
Every moment together for a hundred apart,
Each wave of greeting is to farewell.
All the times our hands meet its to hold the memory until next time.
The time we have together will never be enough,
a time filled with the sorrow of parting.
Hello, hello.
Goodbye, goodbye.
Hello again,
my stranger of eternal goodbye.
