The rain drizzled gently down upon the bleak, gray landscape, creating a fine mist that dampened the air and the spirits of the people that lived there. A lone bison pushed on despite the rain, its riders wet and rather miserable on his back.

"Uhh....Katara?"

"What, Zuko?"

"Don't move, but I think there's something in your hair,"

"Really?" Katara released her hold on Appa's saddle and gingerly patted around her head.

"I don't sense any vibrations," Toph remarked from her seat near the front of the saddle.

"Well, it looks like an animal is in there," Zuko insisted.

"Oh! Really? An animal? Can we keep it as a pet?"

"DINNER!!!"

Sokka and Aang glared at each other after their simultaneous outbursts.

Katara flapped a hand at them to stop it and poked her hair some more. Finding nothing, she looked at Zuko curiously.

"Are you sure you saw something?"

"Yeah! I'm sure. See look! It just moved!"

Just then, Sokka gave up the glaring contest and turned to face his sister. After a moment spent looking from the firebender, the rain plastering his dark hair to his face, to his sister, he burst out laughing.

"Oh...Zuko, she's gonna kill you!" Sokka spluttered amidst his guffaws. Katara narrowed her eyes at zuko but addressed her brother.

"What did he do?"

"He-he-he thought your hair was an animal!" Sokka finally gave up and flopped over on his back laughing. Katara gasped and her hands flew up to her hair, which, in the rain and humidity, had become a matted, frizzy, and wildly curly mass that seemed to grow. Zuko's face flushed bright red and a bit of fear flickered across his face as he glanced down. The ground was an awful long way down if Katara decided to shove him off the saddle.

As Toph collapsed into giggles, Sokka pushed himself up and finally managed to choke out an explanation to Zuko and the clueless Aang.

"Her hair gets really...well, alive whenever its really humid,"

"You thought my hair was an animal?!" Katara glared, clutching the offended part of her anatomy.

"I-I-Yes, but I was trying to help!"

"Zuko," Katara growled slowly, "I'm not going to push you off this saddle because I don't want you dead. But if I were you....I'd check in my sleeping bag before I fell asleep and not eat anything before making sure its not poisoned,"

So saying, Katara turned her back to Zuko and making an arc with her right hand and a stopping motion with her left, deflected the rain around her and everyone else....except Zuko.

When the group landed several hours later, a soaked Zuko huddled beside the fire, using its heat to help warm him as he steamed the wet from his clothes with his bending.

"Sokka?" his teeth chattered.

"Yeah?"

"Remind me never to comment on your sister's hair. Ever again,"
