Here is a one shot…it's short…but it's just an idea I had to write..

A Sky Knight's Job

There I was. Stuck there in the middle of a terra I had never been to.

I groaned as I raked my hands through my flaming red hair that was drenched in dirt and sweat. I looked down at myself. My uniform was masked in mud, blood seething through the ripped holes.

I had a countless amount if bruises and cuts all over me, the majority being on my legs and torso. And the pain wouldn't let me forget that. My eyes were faint beneath my eye lids that fought to just keep open.

"Where am I?" I asked, my voice barely being able to escape my trembling mouth.

My eyes darted around cautiously. I couldn't make out the terra to save my life. I didn't know where in the Atmos I was, but I knew how I got there. I looked up to the sky and saw the sun shift as morning broke into afternoon.

I scanned my area. No sign of any Cyclonians, or the Dark Ace who had drove me into this mess.

I fought with all my strength for I knew Dark Ace was my number 1 opponent. But to my misfortune he knew something I didn't. He had a new weapon. All I knew of that new weapon was that it had stabbed me, the Dark Ace weaving it into my body. Then all I saw was his menacing eyes before everything went black.

When I opened my eyes and found myself here, I was astounded that I was alive.

But now my life was dying and in a matter of minutes I would be nothing but a soulless body…just lying here.

I knew that here wasn't exactly a place I needed to be, or even remotely wanted to be. I wanted to be back on the Condor.

In that split second I remembered something I didn't want to. I had lost my team in the fight. All fears and worries ignited in my chest, the inside feeling having a tightening effect on my body. The emotions pulled at my body, which really hurt.

But my team, they could have been anywhere. They could all be hurt like myself. "No!" I refused myself to be negative. My team was strong, they could get out of any situation. But me on the other hand, I wasn't having much luck.

I only sat there, defenseless. My body unable to move from the impact it had taken. My legs were sprawled in an odd way that wasn't humanly possible. They were definitely broken. And the pain was roaring out of my side where the sword had jolted me, blood hissing as it poured out. My back was against a tree, my arms laid out beside me. And every joint on my body was swollen.

I had blood spewing out of my mouth and dripping off my chin. How much could I have left? So much was already out. This situation was inevitable, no one could save me now, my life draining out.

Hopelessness, the only word that could describe me now. A hopeless Sky Knight…dying.

But this was the price a price a Sky Knight had to pay, and I knew I paid it off, the debt losing its grip as I was washing away.

"A Sky Knight's job is dangerous, but don't let fear of death stop you from doing what you swore to do." Starling had once told me. Every word was truth and they were now displaying themselves to me.

I did my job as a Sky Knight, and not even the Dark Ace could dishonor that. And now as I was drawing my last breath, I shut my eyes. "Goodbye, Atmos." And with that last sentence of my life, I finished. My soul slipping out into the sky.

My job as a Sky Knight was done.

Well, what do ya think? I personally liked it…hope ya'll did.

But I love all the people who review, so please review, it'd be much appreciated.
