Excaliferb!: The Missing Coda
As the bonfire burned brightly, and his companions retold the tale of their adventure, Ferbelot slipped quietly away from the festivities. It had been a magnificent day – but there was still one thing he longed for.
To the edge of the village, he walked alone – but not alone. He could sense a gentle presence watching over him. Then, wafted on the breeze, there came a sweet voice. "Ferbelot…" He turned to see a column of blue mist resolve itself into the figure of a most beauteous lady – the Lady of the Puddle.
"Brave Ferbelot," an enchanting smile graced her lips, "you have saved the kingdom, and proven yourself a true hero, pure and noble of heart. For this, you have earned my favor."
With these words, the Lady of the Puddle bent down to bestow upon him the most precious gift he could have wished for: her kiss upon his cheek.
The world fell away, and Ferbelot was swept up in a storm of dewy blossoms, as he watched that fairest of faces dissolve again into mist. As his sight cleared, and his feet again found themselves on earth, he thought, truly, this had been a most magnificent day.
