Chapter One:
Percy looked up quietly. Professor McGonagall nodded briefly at him. "Mr. Weasley, I'm going to go eat dinner. You may finish up here if you'd wish. Don't forget to lock the door once you're done."
Percy nodded. "Thank you, professor." He ducked his head down and started working on his essay. He was so deep in to his work, that he barely noticed the door open and close.
Frowning slightly, he glanced up. Penelope Clearwater. She was pretty, sure. She had a slightly girlish figure, her hips wider than her chest, and her waist thin. Percy tore his eyes up, trying to think clearly. He didn't understand why he could never focus when she was around.
"Hi," he said. "Are you looking for Professor McGonagall?"
She shook her head. "No."
"Okay." Percy tried to go back to his work, and she stood there, her hands folded nervously. When she didn't leave and he still couldn't focus, he stood up, setting down his quill lightly. "You need help?"
"I...I don't know."
Percy hadn't known the pretty Ravenclaw girl to be shy. He hadn't known her to be so quiet either. He began to question how well he knew her. Cautiously, he walked closer to her and sat on a desk a few feet away.
"How can you not know? Nothing's wrong, is it?" Percy smiled at her warmly. He normally was much more guarded and careful, but right now he didn't bother. This was the girl he had wrote all summer, he had to know her a little, right?
"N...no, nothing's wrong, I was...was just...yeah..." She stuttered a little. He was sure why he found this cute, but her pretty eyes cast nervously across the room, and her stuttering made her real. She wasn't perfect. That's what made Penelope beautiful.
Percy stood up and walked over to her, taking her hands and holding them. "Something's wrong. Are you okay?"
Penelope smiled a little, looking up at his bright eyes. She sighed.
He leaned down and kissed her. He wasn't sure why he did, but it was totally on impulse. She stood on her toes to reach him better, putting her arms around him. Percy set a hand behind her head to hold her lips to his, and an arm around her back.
When they broke away, Percy whispered, "That was a bad idea. We could so get in trouble."
"Then why'd you do it?"
"Because you're amazing. I've loved you forever, Penelope."
They both blushed. Percy was sure he had gone as red as his hair. He kissed her again, and felt himself relax as she melted in to him.
"You're so stiff," she mumbled.
"Sorry," he whispered back. He sat on the desk again, and pulled her up on to his lap.
Her eyes sparkling, she whispered, "It's okay."
He kissed her again. "Are you alright?" he growled.
Penelope smiled a little. "Perfect."
Percy could've stayed there forever, but the door creaked open. He jumped up, knocking Penelope off accidentally. He took her arm to make sure she didn't fall.
"Professor," he began quickly, but only saw Ginny. "Gin, what are you doing...er, nothing's going on...er..."
Ginny flushed a little at catching sight of them. "Oh, er, I didn't think..."
"Don't tell anybody," Percy pleaded. "Please?"
"N...no, of course not. You...You two...enjoy yourselves," Ginny stepped out, closing the door.
Penelope gave him a sad smile. "Don't want anybody to know?"
"No, it's not that. My brothers...they...Fred and George...we'd never hear the end of it. They bother me enough as it is."
"I don't care," Penelope said softly. "I want to be your girlfriend."
"You can be. It's just..."
Penelope gave him another sad smile. "It's okay. I understand." She stepped closer to him, stood on her toes, and kissed him again.
